I asked if I could take his picture. Yes. I stepped across a band of shit. The pigeons began to frighten. Too close. A cloud of gray & blue & pink rushed at me. He looked up. Bare of birds. He said nothing. I stepped back. The birds returned. Together they ate. He said “Now,” & I took my picture.
Taking a break from writing and going to the ballet. Grant me the courage to pull an all-nighter if I have to once I get back, so I can get this document out from under me 🙏
