I just read about this recently, and it's so wild. It would be pretty wild today, but apparently it's like 40+ years old? I read that the guy who put out this "theory" ripped off most of it from an early draft of Star Trek The Motion Picture. lol

The thing that scared me most about 1984 wasn't the extreme totalitarianism, it was the fact that there was no possibility of getting out of that situation. Authoritarianism will always be a threat, but it's scarier when they start dismantling any means of opposition.
