PDFs are great because they can be encrypted with a read-access password. It's just adding the password and opening it that's the barrier for me. (I've already accepted that once I'm hunting for an agent, keeping it away from AI is a lost cause, but I want to keep it untouched as long as possible QQ

Firefox recently introduced AI tools, otherwise this was my go-to up until three days ago orz. Google Drive also uses AI tools and "promises" not to train AI on what's uploaded. I just want to avoid all AI, full stop, at this point.

Desperately trying to find PDF readers me and my friends/beta-readers can use that won't crunch potential manuscripts into the AI machine.

Contrary to popular belief the biggest beginner's roadblock to art isn't even technical skill it's frustration tolerance, especially in the age of social media. It hurts and the frustration is endless but you must build the frustration tolerance equivalent to a roach's capacity to survive a nuclear explosion. That's how you build on the technical skill. Throw that "won't even start because I'm afraid it won't be perfect" shit out the window. Just do it. Just start. Good luck.

I like bluesky not for the farming numbers or being on a "big website" but because its just nice to post here and see the things I actually want to see on my feed. I feel like I can relax a lot more here
