I'm writing one book, yes, but what about second book? Book on the side that doesn't really have a plot yet? Secret book I won't tell anyone about for a while? Book that persists only in my imaginings as I fall asleep every night? You've heard about those, haven't you?

This one is a modern fantasy dystopian satire. Everything I write is under the fantasy umbrella, and one thing is sci-fi, but I lean toward Dark Fantasy lately

I just think that statement is toxic overall. It can be a way of making writers/artists/creatives feel guilty, as if letting in the thought of “I wish I was making some money here” is a betrayal of artistic integrity. It's not. We do not live these romantic lifestyles some seem to think we do.

“Don't write or draw for money. Do it because you love it...” I mean, yeah. Obviously we enjoy doing it, otherwise we wouldn't BE doing. That said, it'd be cool being paid and supported enough to simply live as creatives, and in turn, have the freedom to create wild new things without restraint.
