We hope the brand’s relaunch circa 2028, regardless of WB’s fate after they split with Discovery, can actually bring the brand back to a height of popularity not seen in decades. Let the artists and creators do what they want, appeal to all ages (not just children), and let the execs back away.

As much as the idea of having the Looney Tunes crossover with IP that Warner Bros. owns, it was a missed opportunity to have the characters spoof and lampoon rather than just cosplay. One of the videos even reused Daffy’s jealousy of Bugs Bunny schtick which may work in some context but not all.

all classic TV should be available on streaming. kids these days need to have a Gilligan’s Island phase. A Brady Bunch phase. A Mork & Mindy phase. shared experiences are vital to a functioning society. i am only being a little sarcastic.

I will never understand why every film studio that owns classic Golden Age cartoons doesn't just put literally all of them on YouTube for free with ads, like record companies do with music videos. There's no fucking way that would be LESS profitable than whatever they're doing with them now.

Agreed. One thing that's crucial though is the ads can only be *before and between* shorts, not during them. That's a key thing Tubi gets right. One of the greatest things about these old toons is the comedic timing. You can't break up a gag sequence with an ad and have it land, it breaks the joke.

I'm all for Tubi streaming Looney Tunes. If Warner Bros not going to give a damn about them, someone has to.

The simple truth is people love this stuff and will watch it if you let them, not by putting it behind a premium fee. I fell in love with these cartoons as a kid because they used to be on TV all the time so I could, ya know, watch them lmao.

Perfectly restored and grouped into nice 30m blocks of different-character cartoons from the same era, no ads breaking up the cartoons, only in between

IMO skip the earliest and latest ones unless you know what you're looking for, focus on the middle of the run - full of comedy masterpieces

Warner Bros. spent years basically watering down these characters and shaving off all the edges until they ruined them enough to the point no one wanted to watch any new stuff with them.

But now, everyone's going back to the originals. I don't think this phenomenon is limited specifically to this.

Each upcoming future project is at risk of alienating most audiences if they stick to sanitizing the #LooneyTunes as family-friendly and pandering to the basic kids show/movie tropes.

Only The Looney Tunes Show seemed to be one of the best efforts at Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network accepting that the #LooneyTunes are tailored made for adults and even teenagers.

As HBO Max is shifting away from original kids programming, Tiny Toons and Builders never caught on stateside.

Tiny Toons Looniversity and Bugs Bunny Builders, despite WarnerMedia’s efforts, continued the company’s doubling down on sanitizing the characters so that kids and even preschoolers can watch them. The result was poorly timed as priorities shifted post-merger.

The classic #LooneyTunes shorts are still popular. These characters have an all ages appeal. Warner Bros. has to stop categorizing them as a kids brand. Looney Tunes is a “general audience” generational legacy brand. We hope they can expand their audience for future projects and take creative risks.
