This study, leaded by PhD student Nikolaj Fišer and coordinated by Dr Celia Andreu-Sánchez with the collaboration of Dr Miguel Ángel Martín-Pascual, shows AI-generated music can be as emotional as human music, but how it's made matters. (6/8)

Regarding emotions, AI and human music triggered comparable emotional valence and dominant feelings, showing both can be equally effective emotionally. (5/8)

Human-composed music felt more familiar to listeners, probably because it followed well-known patterns and styles used in film soundtracks, which audiences are already used to hearing in audiovisual media. (4/8)

AI-generated music caused greater pupil dilation and was rated as more arousing, suggesting it may require more mental effort to process compared to familiar, human-composed soundtracks. (3/8)

88 participants watched the same videos with human or AI-generated music.

Huge congrats to Claudia Cano Estrada from José Manuel López Blanco’s group! She won one of the top prizes for best oral communication at the 21st Symposium on Purine & Pyrimidine Metabolism in Barcelona. Well deserved! 👏

These findings, published in the journal Advanced Healthcare Materials, are a result of the European collaborative project BioFINE.

This coating helps the body better tolerate the implant, improving its long-term performance and stability.

The approach consists of coating the electronic implants (which connect the prosthetic device to the patient’s nervous system) with a potent anti-inflammatory drug: dexamethasone.

An international team, with the participation of the gnpr.bsky.social, has developed a new solution to reduce the immune response triggered by neural prosthetics used after limb amputations or nerve injuries.
