Hello! Dorset-based amateur, published photographer. I mainly take pictures of noisy mechanical stuff, so that’s mainly what you’ll get here, plus any random, cool bits I happen to see. All pictures are taken by me and are my © unless otherwise indicated.

He’s gone back down the plug hole. No use spraying water down there - they curl up and trap air bubbles between their legs to bob about and ride it out. Glooping a good dollop of shampoo down there, though…

One of the best looking Apaches I think I've seen! Not something you normally say about these little bruisers, but the RNLAF Display Apache AH-64D sported quite a paint job back in 2011

Tactical voting for the Lib Dems in my constituency of West Dorset detoxed us after more than 180 years of being unremittingly Tory 🥳

Ever wondered what all those buttons in a cockpit actually do? 🤯✈️

Here’s a pilot’s guide to the Airbus A350 cockpit — one of the most advanced flight decks in the sky.

Track A350 flights live with our app:

Were they accompanied by ’The Ride of the Valkyries’ being played through a loudhailer?

Benny in Maintenance upgraded the screens on a Garuda Indonesia plane and the pilot's just been going livid. Says they've lost all cockpit data because of turbulence. No idea how that can happen.

I loved my #aiwa personal stereo - it was a thing of beauty. I would’ve gone back into a burning building for it. It was the absolute pinnacle of tech back then - feathertouch logic controls, autoreverse, Dolby NR, rechargeable battery and in-line remote. Hard to think I bought it 36! 😱 years ago.

Is Sunak ‘at the top levels of the political class’? He was just one of several unelected, over-privileged and extremely shit PMs foisted on us over the last decade

Because it has a strategic position close to the world’s greatest region of both unceasing aggro and unparalleled natural resources, for the last 80 years?

The Hawker Siddeley #Hawk T.1 is 50 years old this year. Here’s the #RAF 2010 display jet sporting one of the best liveries of recent years, which itself was celebrating 50 years of the 4 Sqn Flight Training School.

With the news that #RoyalNavy #Wildcat helicopters are being deployed to Cyprus on anti-drone duties, here’s a couple on display in happier times. I live quite close to #RNAS #Yeovilton and these fly over my house daily.

Ospreys are difficult buggers to photograph well. The rotors are really slow, needing long 1/100 shutter speeds to produce attractive prop blur, then airframe vibrations become an issue. This is a reasonable job from a few years ago.

When they said WW3 would only last a week, we all thought a couple of nukes would mean 'game over' - not because both sides would literally run out of munitions to chuck at one another

Frankly I’m surprised it’s taken this long. We all have a unique MAC address.

They do have two, but vertical, not canted. In the video you can see that the F-15 is missing one and three quarters

No vertical stabiliser. Result: flat spin.

Surely it would be quicker and easier to fly east of Iran?

I don't know - I guess you have another one allocated to you. They must have spares, wouldn't you think?
