Tired of the constant claims that this war is somehow our fault. Ukraine had only one choice: to defend itself against russia or to succumb and become cannon fodder in russia's future wars of conquest. As anyone with a clear mind can see, neither of these options is peace.

Trump pardoned Jared Wise, a January 6th rioter who repeatedly urged the mob to β€œkill” police officers there. He called the cops Nazis and β€œthe Gestapo”

The same Jared Wise currently serves as a senior adviser in Pam Bondi’s Department of Justice.

Just want to encourage fans who love Van Morrison's old stuff but cringe at some of the crazy crap he's put out in recent years to give his new 'Remembering Now' a listen. It's a surprisingly lovely, hopeful record.

That racism motivates decisions like giving Medgar Evers the heave-ho is obvious.

I remember when presidents went to war against poverty, disease and tyranny.
Now our president thinks the enemy is @harvard.edu and turns a blind eye to suffering around the world as he cozies up to dictators.

Maybe move Story to first for a start? I know it's a big mess. And I don't know any of these guys enough to say who can switch where. Just agree that it's time to make changes. If we must stumble through, let's give the young guys a chance to start promising careers now rather than later.

Of they'd just won half their one-run games, the Sox would be in first place.

To the degree that success is random, which it often is, the Sox have just had an unusually unlucky streak.
Ultimately, they are likely to be pretty close to 50-50 in one-run games unless they're a terrible team. And they're not.
With normal luck, they'd now be tied for 1st in their division.

Portland offers insight into Pope Leo’s Black heritage | Steve Collins From 1875 to 1900, a former slave guided Maine’s largest diocese, passing for white.

A longtime Portland, Maine bishop, born into slavery in Georgia, never even hinted that he was Black. He passed as a white guy.
It will be interesting to see how Pope Leo approaches the news that he had Black grandparents from New Orleans' Creole community.

Complaining about the "pencil terrorists" of the press in 2017, Paul LePage said, β€œFor seven years, I’ve been enduring these people. If I walked across the Kennebec River, the headline would read β€˜Governor can’t swim.’ That’s how bad they are.”

OK, this is wild.

In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them.

It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*.

What the HELL?
