This, on top of all the horrible privacy invasions that it has for actual adults, should make it so no one should support this law. Please, if you're a UK citizen, sign this partition petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72... and contact your member of parliament. Do not let them get away with harm.

Children will always find alternative means, and without safer avenues to do so, they may end up leaning on people and get exploited by them. This is a fundamental flaw of this law that makes it easier for children to be harmed by not only websites but other people. It is disgusting.

This will make it more of a nuisance for people to access popular websites that are usually "somewhat" (heavy emphasis on somewhat) and will instead drive vulnerable people to more dangerous, sketchy websites. not only in viruses but in dangerous content. This isn't even the worst part for safety

The Online Safety Act is not only a huge breach of privacy, but it fundamentally fails at its supposed job of "protecting children." Children aren't stupid, and there are very many easy ways around this law, but what is more concerning is the less safe ways Children will go about circumvention.

You do understand that nobody would end up buying the products anyways because nearly everyone is with a provider that uses visa and mastercard anyways? people aren't going to switch banks just so they can buy specific content. This wouldn't just affect smut it'd affect all purchases on Itch.

And the "gave advance warning" part probably doesn't apply cause they most likely got told to take them down immediately or face consequences. If they had time and didn't that's shitty but I imagine they didn't get the time to warn people beforehand.

-Go complain to Visa and Mastercard instead of Itch. That's the way you can get change to happen. Itch can't really do much here. They should've gave advance warning and they've been shitty not to put us first but realistically they can't make this not happen.
