One reason why I came to bsky from Instagram was that I was tired of only posting sfw drawings and if I didn't, I'd get shadowbanned or worse...

Here we have a nice thing called "labels", so every time I click on "show" I consent to viewing nsfw.

As a CSA survivor, these kinds of bans always make me feel so unsafe. I've seen it happen so many times, people claim they're trying to ban art that "romantizes/advocates abuse" but in reality they just ban all mentions of abuse. Including survivors trying to reclaim our voices through art.

I had some thoughts on how censorship affects me as a survivor of sexual abuse. These sorts of rules are always framed as being meant to protect people, but they never do.

something i keep thinking about re: #bskycensorship is how rapidly it'll devolve into heavily gendered and racialized biases. who is the aggressor at first glance? who is the passive victim? what factors influence how an audience perceives these roles in artistic depictions of sex and kink?

Really good to know that @bsky.app 's response to their entire userbase complaining about censorship is... more censorship
