Leopard in the rain at Londolozi, South Africa. Leopards once roamed widely, but they are now locally extinct in a significant part of their former range. Habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and trophy hunting are primary factors contributing to the decline in leopard populations.

Leopards are facing a severe conservation crisis. They have lost 75% of their historical range globally, and in South Africa, they are already extinct in 67% of their former range. Without immediate action to address habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict, leopards could disappear entirely.

At the beginning of the war in 2022, I helped raise $2000 for Ukraine with 3 art pieces featuring Pres. Zelenskyy, a Ukrainian cat, and a Ukrainian dog named Rambo. I wear this t-shirt proudly and always support the bravery of the Ukrainian people! Slava Ukraini!

All brushes are preloaded and lined up for the painting in their appropriate order.

This painting is a record for me, as I juggled six brushes and made six precise color mixes; only yellows and greens are pure out of the tube.

The first layer of a watercolor painting of a yellow sunflower. It is streaming with light surrounded by the vivid blues, and suppressed by dark purples and greys as a vignette; its leaves are distressed.

Finally, after four unsuccessful attempts, the first wash of my watercolor painting fell into the dynamically controlled chaos I was hoping for.
Now all that is left is not to screw it up during the rendering.

Blake originally produced this small, richly illustrated collection of short lyric verses as two separate books, in 1789 and 1794, then combined them into a single volume in the latter year. Although its small, colorful format recalls a children's book, its message is sophisticated and complex. Innocence and Experience contrast human existence, before and after the Fall. The pastoral poems in Innocence express religious faith and acceptance, and exhibit fine detail and flowing lines; the bardic verses in Experience, by contrast, convey disillusionment and anger, and employ bolder outlines. Published during the height of the Terror, the French Revolution left its mark on the second book.”

I didn't invent this way of painting I adapted it based on the book of Nita Engle "How to Make a Watercolor Paint Itself" I just adapted her knowledge to my preferred subjects.

To achieve the washes I want, I create a barrier with masking fluid, and then I paint wet-in-wet all colors at once with preloaded brushes in a predefined sequence. This painting method is fairly challenging to master, and I often fail.

Finally, after being sick for a few weeks, I found time to work on a dramatic sunflower painting that I've been envisioning for a while.
Unfortunately, though, my first two attempts at this had failed.
