Ooh. Tempted to sift through my 2019 summer hols pics, which included lots of train travel. Especially enamoured of the Dutch double deckers, or Berlin Central which awed me.

Fair to middling, which is good enough for today. Pleased to have cleared and cleaned the cupboard under the sink. The spiders weren't impressed.

Feeling anxious as my housing officer thinks it's better that I take my guide dog to spend on a walk than in my garden, unless I lead spend and clean up every time. Apparently employing a professional waste management company assist once a week is unhygienic and unreasonable.

Yes. Though they're more of a border. The back garden more than makes up for it, though I delegate the task as you wouldn't want me armed with secateurs or a lawnmower. Unless you were making a horror film.

Guy thought bin day was for him, especially when we used liners, though he'd probably have taken on the challenge of wheelie bins.

Oh yes, current and second dog felt the pull of the laundry basket, especially socks. And shoes. If I can't find a pair, I know where to look... in the dog bed!

He, the dog I didn't know I needed. Not only did he improve my mobility but he brought me out of my shell. I was gainfully shy but you try to be, when you have a big yellow dog by your side. Me and him taking on the world. I forgave him for being an Olympic bin diver and counter surfer.

I was smitten. So began my guide dog journey.

Then he would go like the clappers and I debated whether I'd need rollerskates or a full-on Ben Hur chariot.

At the end of the assessment walk, his trainer, Helen asked what I thought of Guy? Whilst I was pondering; he sat, offered me a paw, wagged his and grunted at me as if to say "You'll do".

Hard to believe it was thirty years ago today I first met a life-changing dog.

I wouldn't have picked him, I'd been expecting a dainty little labrador girl, not a dog the size of a pony, who wouldn't move unless his trainer was in front.
