Excited for SC in the future! I wonder if the infamous difficulty will be preserved. I have a traumatic memory of using the corpses of my fallen party members as a barricade during one fight lmao.

Excellent remake, it hit all the right notes and the modernized combat was fun. My only minor complaint is that the new localization is a slight downgrade. It’s… fine. It’s just a shame to lose the flavor that the original had.

Damn… I’ve already experienced this ending, but 1st Chapter still had me tearing up during the credits. Seeing the gradual change in Joshua by Estelle’s side, oof, my heart.

Maybe I’ll skip Cyrene… and get Hyacine instead… or e1 Tribbie…

Finally getting around to playing Trails in the Sky FC remake… it’s so cozy. I love the craft animations, they really brought the originals to life. And I don’t have to follow a guide for hidden quests anymore lmao. Even the books are marked.

He keeps chewing off his orange fur like he wants to be a white cat instead. I’m sorry buddy it doesn’t work like that. One orange brain cell for life.

Finn has been over grooming and losing fur all summer. ☹️ Blood work all normal, no changes in diet or environment or other behavior. He’s already on hypo food. Indoor only.

Going to try giving him steroids to see if it’s a nonfood allergy… if that isn’t it then I’ll try anxiety meds…

I kinda want to marinate with SHf some more but I’m also increasingly annoyed with the bad takes aside from the expected “game about women’s issues bad.” I’ve gone from neutral on Rinko to “she’s an excellent contribution to this story and I support women’s wrongs.”

Once again this game has left me staring at the ceiling with thoughts swirling in my head.

Speeding through a third run for the true ending and getting new notes even now. I love a worthwhile NG+.

SHf brings a different, more lived-in horror about women’s autonomy and societal expectations. Ending 2 made me deeply, personally uncomfortable, in a meaningful way. Dismissing that layered package as “bad storytelling” and “juvenile” is just. So incredibly award-winning at missing the point.

SHf doesn’t scare me the way, say, SH2R scared me with the “I reeeally don’t wanna open that door” and “oh god there are horrors in here with me and they’re on the walls stretching into infinite darkness” types of scares. The fun rollercoaster of scares.

Guys are out here being offended that the protagonist understands what the mutilated doll monsters symbolize, preventing them from coming that brilliant conclusion themselves.

lol the amount of people trivializing the themes for being “too obvious” and “too anime.” “Everything is told to you and there’s nothing to analyze or read into” excuse me, what??

Okay, I’ll grant, some of the forced fights at the end were a bit much.

But damn, that ending is gonna marinate in my head. Can’t wait to find out more in NG+.

I will say that it’s not the best horror experience imo. It’s creepy and atmospheric but doesn’t nail the emotional rhythm of unease-dread-terror-relief that I want in horror games and movies.

But the story is pretty compelling and I will happily play NG+ for more of it.

The combat is typical SH combat. Let’s be real, combat was always clunky, who actually cares about the fighting in these games lmao. If you’re trying to play it like a Souls game, frankly, you’re doing it wrong.

I was in the “idk about this as a SH game” camp when I saw the SHf trailer, but now that I’m deep into my first run I’ve decided I don’t care about what makes it SH, I’m simply having fun.

The number of turns e2 Phainon will get with that buff. 😂 Pure joy.
