ramza isn't out to change the world, he just wants to do the best he can in any individual situation to help people. he's humble that way

the difference between them is that ramza rejects power and refuses to manipulate others, whereas delita embraces power and is unafraid to manipulate others in order to achieve his end goals. both of them want a more just world, though arguably ramza actually cares less about that than delita does

the framing of delita as ramza's antagonist is just odd to me i guess. delita is all tsundere with him in a couple scenes but ultimately his threats are toothless. meanwhile ramza never expresses any intent to oppose delita

most of my ships don't get canonical happy endings tho. a lot of them die or otherwise have bad ends. sometimes they end up betraying one another, often they have different endgame love interests. other times the thing they're from is just kind of trashy to begin with

one of my favorite ships involves character A repeatedly assaulting character B and trying to use B as a tool. B recognizes that this isn't A's true self and leaves their entire life behind in order to make sense of it all. the two of them fall deeply in love and live out a cottagecore fantasy

and by that i don't mean the characters are fighting for their lives, i mean the relationship is barely able to work and requires the stars to align in order to succeed, if it can even succeed at all

the most compelling ships are the ones that are fighting for their goddamn life
