“Denki.”

He tilts his head as he tries to recall a Denki.

“You hurt him.” Katsuki mimes raking his nails down the length of a mer’s tail. The siren frowns, sinking into the water so only his eyes and his long forehead are visible. “Yeah. Feel bad, you dick. Denki’s good.”

“What is ‘dick?’”

Katsuki hesitates, before he says, “It’s a bad word. It means you’re bad, because you hurt Denki. But it’s also… It’s…” He has no idea how to explain it with the siren’s limited vocabulary. Hizashi taught him some basic words like good, bad, food, sleep, pain, mer, and human, but definitely nothing like sex or pleasure. Katsuki supposes he could say it’s something that feels good, but that might be too vague, so he just gestures at his crotch.

“What?”

Fuck. He thought that would be pretty obvious. Maybe the siren doesn’t know what human genitalia look like. Whatever. “Ask Denki.”

The siren frowns. “You want me to use my siren song on you?”
Izuku smiles, nodding.

“I want to hear what it sounds like.”
The siren gives him an incredulous look. “Why?”
“I’m just curious.”
“Alright…”
Izuku takes his earbuds out and smiles.
The siren seems to consider his options before he opens his mouth and starts singing. Izuku’s smile drops slowly, and he gets that glazed look in his eyes. Then he speaks. Fast. Katsuki has to watch Hizashi for the translation.
“The siren is so interesting and beautiful. His fins are super cool. His tail is big and strong. He’s the biggest mer I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen a mer like him. He’s fascinating. He’s—”
“Enough,” Katsuki says when he catches the grin on the siren’s face.
