The wage subsidy? Yes it went to all employees, wealthy and not. It should have been distributed via MSD as welfare rather than wages via employers in my view. Far less chance of large scale fraud and beyond used to pay shareholders. Grrrr.

Once Ardern was campaigning in 2019 she was not short of critics. Also before then. Right wing media attacks. That's what they do - from Ardern to Swarbrick and Whanau. I don't live in New York but I assume Mamdani also. In that way they are all similar. Ardern and Mamdani both won despite this.

Jacinda Ardern was a Mamdani. She got some favourable press treatment in her first campaign.

What I'm saying is there's nothing gained by attacking Labour if you're on the left. But we should all be attacking the right as much as possible. Too often lefties attack each other for not being perfect while the right is let off the hook despite being genuinely terrible.
