I'm gonna need more degrees than that.
How will the wolf survive?

Important that Meade didn't necessarily see Lee crossing back over as the end of the campaign, wanted to keep up the pressure on Lee in Virginia, but he wasn't reinforced.
Lee was able to maneuver and mostly avoid contact.
Some books on this:
Haha, it's controversial!
I do think Meade was a bit too content to let Lee's army back across the Potomac.
But I also think that of he'd attacked the way Lincoln wanted him too the AOP gets chewed up. Lee's position was pretty strong.
Happy birthday, DaveKid!
Ashburn/Utley Fay is a fine day gor a birthday, yeah.
A lot of the better WWII movies humanize the Nazis, or blur moral lines, etc.
Back in the 90s, that seemed reasonable. We didn't really think people would actually identify w/ the Nazis.
Well. Things have changed, now.
Movies and video games snd all that have helped blur clear moral lines.
Esp. the more distant we got from the war, there kept needing to be dramatic twists.
Saving Private Ryan, for example. The part that sticks w/ people is the horrifically violent opening. But simply recreating Omaha Beach (not entirely accurately) then needed a hokey story.
Subtweet.
Saw somebody asking about good WWII movies that involve killing a lot of Nazis.
I've got a list. Sure.
But I've got a take that's more important: I think we, as a society, got bored w/ the idea of killing Nazis, decided it wasn't a nice thing. And I think that was a terrible mistake.

Rachel Chrastil's book on the Franco-Prussian War of 1870. Shattered the balance of power as forged in 1815, after the Napoleonic Wars, gave rist to the German Empire, created the preconditions for 1914.
I have been meaning to understand it better for a long time.
Course not.
But it's a good sign.
Politicians gotta start calling for Miller to go. Right now.
