Persistent attenuation of lymphocyte subsets after mass SARS-CoV-2 infection Growing evidence suggests that lymphocyte subsets are declined in COVID-19 patients, but it is unclear if these alterations persist after widespread e…

“Our findings redefine SARS-CoV-2 infection as a condition of long-lasting immune compromise.”

At this point, I genuinely have no ability to comprehend how is anyone not scared sh*t-less about the long-term consequences of infections, especially on kids?

I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.

This is an excellent, brief video compilation highlighting the fact that a COVID pandemic was not inevitable.

It was preventable, allowed only by the arrogant incompetence of medical infection control leaders who saw outsiders as rivals for *their* turf.

As most of the COVID -safe/-aware community can tell you, try wearing a mask everywhere & declining indoor eating invitations and then see how many friends you have left.

“Schools are an ideal breeding ground for #measles” on CBC Radio 7pm news.

Of course they wouldn’t have to be if

1. We cleaned the air in schools
2. Sick people wore masks and stayed away
3. Most importantly, kids were vaccinated before coming to school.

FFS. This is NOT hard.

As we cross this six-year mark, WHO asks countries and partners, just as we ask ourselves: Is the world better prepared for the next pandemic?

The answer is yes and no.

Of course, "Combating misinformation on a large scale & building trust in institutions & science is essential to prevent unnecessary costs & improve population health".

Yes. But stop telling people the pandemic is over (has "subsided").

Just because people aren't still dying in their millions in ICUs across the world, doesn't mean that the pandemic has "subsided".

▶️ We still have #LongCOVID, for which there is NO cure;

▶️ and we still have the cumulative risk of #Reinfections, long term organ harm, & immune dysregulation.

Welcome to 2026, where readers of 👉the New York Post👈 get a better education on the science of airborne disease transmission than an MD who just graduated from medical school at the University of British Columbia.

This is not hyperbole.

People need to go to jail for this.

Students begin Covid compensation claim against 36 more universities It comes after University College London settled a claim from students there over lost learning in the pandemic.

This is emblematic of the consumer culture that fees have engendered.

What the hell did the students expect? It was a ONCE IN A CENTURY PANDEMIC. There were LAWS against congregating in public. Staff worked themselves to the bone to get online delivery working.

Oh hell no. They deserve a reply that says:
Maybe the OLD ME would've tolerated this message; but disabled, chronically ill me thinks you should be told: This was a thoughtless, selfish, and cruel message you sent. I would rather have NO friends than a
"friend" who reminds me how isolating it is to be so unwell in a world full of people so ableist that you delusionally and desperately pretend on the daily that Covid isn't actively still disabling and killing people.

Someone wrote me the perfect reply to them. I love y'all internet CC people

My IG feed is full of parents asking for prayers for their hospitalized children with illnesses like Strep, Covid & influenza A. I don't want to dismiss prayers if that gives someone hope, but it's no substitute for preventative mitigations for airborne viruses. It didn't have to be this way

Filter replacement day. We don’t often see how dirty the air we breathe is, but moments like this are a clear reminder. Why would anyone want this in their lungs??

A woman sits in a wheelchair, holding a yellow book titled "Year of the Tiger: An Activist's Life" by Alice Wong. She wears a blue sweater and red lipstick, looking directly at the camera. A large pink quotation mark is in the top left corner. Below the image, on a dark blue background, white text reads: "The many identities you hold and your lived experiences are not in conflict with each other; they make you sharp, whole, and extraordinary." This is followed by "- YEAR OF THE TIGER, ALICE WONG" in pink. The bottom left features the Long COVID Advocacy logo.

We are well into our read of 'Year of the Tiger' in memory of Alice Wong, for our disability & chronic illness reading collective, The #PedanticZebra Book Club.

This is a super quote about holding & unifying the many aspects of ourselves.
