27.02.2026 16:07 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Paramount may be a better or worse owner of WB than Netflix. One thing that's certain: the process by which Paramount gained control of WB is grotesque and un-American. www.thebulwark.com/p/paramount-...
27.02.2026 13:16 β π 25 π 8 π¬ 1 π 1Netflix is probably marginally less bad but only if you believe theyβll continue releasing movies in theaters. If Iβm a regulator Iβm extracting a guarantee of some sort that theyβll continue to do so.

"I think it's really hard to Imagine my own cinematic life without him in it."
@sonnybunch.bsky.social pays tribute to the late Robert Duvall.
"Itβs impossible to single out a lone defining performance by Robert Duvall. He was in so many of the greatest films of all time that one loses track trying to count them. Where do you start?" Well, we can try.

@sonnybunch.bsky.social pays tribute to Robert Duvall: "Robert Duvall has been a part of the American cinematic landscapeβan imposing mesa, cragged and hard to look away fromβsince before I was born and starred in more great movies than any one man has a right to. May he rest in peace."

"'Crime 101' is one of those oddly paced movies that either needed to be twenty minutes shorter and lean into the high-concept, elevator-pitch nature of the idea or be twenty minutes longer." Good enough; but it could have been more.
@sonnybunch.bsky.social reviews:
I'm working my way through the series now, which I enjoy even as it falls into some of the traps of TV shows of this nature. (There are a LOT of serial killers in the DMV/West Virginia area, apparently!)
13.02.2026 15:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Brian Raftery's new book, "Hannibal Lecter: A Life" is really interesting because it is, at least in part, a backdoor biography of author Thomas Harris. I talked to him about discovering the man behind the monster. www.thebulwark.com/p/read-all-a...
13.02.2026 14:47 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0CRIME 101 is one of those weirdly paced films thatβs either 20 minutes too long or 20 minutes too short. Itβs not quite zippy enough for a high-concept thriller but itβs too truncated to be a proper HEAT-style epic. Some great car chases though! www.thebulwark.com/p/crime-101-...
