Met several readers at Worldcon who were interested in shorter fiction but just didn’t know where to look for it and who/which stories they might like. It definitely feels like there is an audience, but there isn’t a bridge connecting them to the magazines + short fiction authors they’d love.

my grandmother spent her life sacrificing for her damily. You feel so helpless when you're sitting there, watching someone you love die. You want to do something more. Give them an experience they always wanted to have.

There's more to it, but that's the gist. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

so I don't want to give too much away, but: I had the privilege of doing some of the hospice care for my grandmother during covid. Her name was Florence. Some of the lines are directly things she said to me on her deathbed.

And we always want to do everything we can for our loved ones...

the Munin machine was actually a late addition -- during revisions with Radon. I originally wrote the story for Apex magazine's monthly flash competition (the theme was "memory".
