A square room with an open pipe filled with glowing green liquid. There is a set of grates used as walkways to cross over the pipes. In the back of the room there is a small staircase leading up to a chair and a computer screen. Boxes and strange glowing rocks fill the room.

A polluted beach with a pipe filled with glowing liquid dumping into the water. Ruins of old buildings litter the beach. There is graffitti all over the ground and rocks. Broken monitors and a stair case leading somewhere is towards the back. Bioluminesant slime dots all over the ground.

Concret floors divide up a canal full of polluted water. There are various grate walkways leading to different paths. There is a refiery, a run down shop area with a billboard lit up, and graffitti on the ground.

Broken ground made of concret is flanked by a polluted river and rubbish. It looks to be a market and a food service area. There is a narrow grated bridge connecting the two points on either side of the river.

Sometimes, as a DM, I don't know if I impacted my players as a storyteller, or even as person....but then I see them telling stories. Stories we created together, and that is... so wonderful. I just think that's neat.

I'm so excited to be expanding upon the homebrew Numenera world I created a year or so back. I love it. This new chapter is called "The Sleeping Gate", exploring a roving city and the mystery around the Wakened Hope and She-Who-Speaks. In a bleak world, telling stories is a blinding light.

Mythic encounter had three different actions that occured on the Lair Action. The Lair Action, the Anchors Action, and the Mythic Actions. I staggered the actions. Lair action first, when the players hit the Anchors, their action triggered, then boss got to 50 HP and Mythic set in. Players 1/ #dnd

They survived. I'm very proud of them. Two deaths, one perma (at request of player), and them ready to get back at it. #dnd

Me as a DM:"Failure doesn’t mean a TPK; it means the world changes in hostile, quantifiable ways."
Also me as a DM: "Yeah, you can have a two pound bag of crickets for whatever reason. I don't care, drop it on the BBEG."

Praise the Dice Gods, and may they bless me tomorrow as I run a difficult encounter for my players who asked for a Mythic Encounter. I have Lair Actions, Mythic Actions, and seven sheets to read through. May my players succeed. It will be hard, but I want them to win. #dnd5e
