Friday night 76 teens took over the Franklin Avenue Library to celebrate the end of summer reading with a laser tag and nerf party! We played games, ate pizza, and a good time was had by all. Check out some of the photos and videos from the night.

All you need is an ID and proof of addressssss to get a DMPL library card. All Iowa residents are eligible to sign up.

We don't think we have ever made a library card for a snake before, but there is a first time for everything. 🐍 🐍 🐍

Central Library is open tonight during the Iowa State Fair Parade! The pickup window, book drops, and library parking garage will close at 5 PM.

Rosie helped her friend Cubbie Bear celebrate his birthday at Principal Park yesterday! She loved meeting young readers, giving out high fives, and generally being a little silly with the other mascots.

Summer is flying by! What are you reading?

Don’t forget, the summer reading challenges for all ages end tomorrow. Make sure to turn in your reading logs or complete your entry online to be in the grand prize drawings.

Bring your own Tarot deck or our presenter will also have decks for attendees to use.

Deepen your knowledge of Tarot on Saturday at 2 PM at the Franklin Avenue Library! Practice using easy-to-learn Tarot spreads to build your Tarot skills and deepen your practice. At this class we will explore the 22 Major Arcana cards in depth and learn how to work with them. buff.ly/OOQNd6n

DMPL summer reading challenges for both adults and kids wrap up on Saturday, August 2! Make sure to turn in your entry sheets or finish the challenges online in order to be eligible for the grand prize drawing.
