Will have to disagree a little here and *open to discussion*: Is this really something that a human brain can't catch? I know productivity is a good thing, yet uploading unpublished research into AI means it can get into databases. Plus, I'm repeatedly being told readers like my chatty Indian tone ๐

I have not deactivated my X account and occasionally do go there. But I agree it has become wild. And I have been thinking about deactivating it.

There has to be something wrong about a President openly taking a gift from a foreign entity.

The last week of classes for me. It has been a long semester. The last few months have not been easy for me or my siblings due to the passing of our mom. I'm looking forward to the summer now.

Do any of you in #ORMS take the journal impact factor into consideration when submitting a manuscript for peer review? I'm also v. interested in knowing what the younger generation is thinking for--let's face it--they are the future ๐

Am trying to download a user interface for Python simulator, and guess what? At the top of the website, it says "please support Ukraine." Thought of you immediately. Hope the war ends soon!

I would love to go back to the days when it was about quality rather than quantity. Certainly publishing was not a game then. Many of those folks are now in their 70s; they were passionate about the work they did, & it showed in the quality of the work they accomplished.

Difficult news from Myanmar about the #earthquake & the devastating death toll. Many buildings were not designed to withstand an earthquake.
Do you know we also have such buildings in St. Louis, MO, which is in an earthquake zone? #disaster simoptim.com/main/paper_d...

The 72-hr period after the disaster is not a good time to collect data on disaster response, especially by physically visiting the affected area or even using drones. Let the cleanup & repair crews finish their work. Power is needed to save lives. Data on damage can be gathered later.

Lessons learned from the EF2 tornado that struck Rolla, MO on March 14: Downed electric lines on the roads are dangerous and have to cleared rapidly; plus, roads need to remain blocked until that happens. Best to minimize driving in the area until power is restored and all debris is cleared!
