I can't lie, my interest in BoP definitely nosedived after Romero left.

It was still decent, but absolutely *no one* was doing art and layouts like he was

Over on my other account I was pleased with a lot of annoucements from NYCC.

However in order to stay on brand over here, I am of course pissed that there was zero mention of Darkhawk

*Very* much a set up for a 'Imperial Guardians' series. There's a lot, mainly around Darkhawk himself and the truth behind his powers/origins/the raptors.

Not to mention the tease from another character about future plans, and that Amadeus Cho is featured on the cover yet not in the issue.

You can definitely tell that the 'co-writing' between Dan Abnett and Jonathan Hickman is very much led by Abnett. They're all clearly individual characters with banter and unique voices.

They're mentioned a couple of times, and it's very much set up that there's a mystery around his true origin so I'd suggest so!

In case you're unaware, I'm talking about Imperial War: Imperial Guardians.

This is probably one of the meatiest issues of the entire Imperial saga tbh. Much more going on than the main book. And it actually feels quite important as we head towards the inclusion.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is just yet another reprint of the 90s comic not new material. Don't know how you can market that as a 2025 series....
