Coal jennies have been built. 10 in all but I do have 3 more unbuilt.
Next is to prime them.

Any excuse to not work is a valid one.

Thats totally a mood. LD is hard. I dont blame anyone for avoiding them.
Being able to hold someone regularly is very important.

Decals are easy. Dont fear them.
Theres plenty of online guides that do a much better job than I could of explaining it all.
But generally, apply decals to gloss surfaces and let setting solution do its thing.

On the bench is a handful of the new improved Walthers Amfleets. They actually roll fairly well. Slowly adding number decals to them.

MDT reefer #14479 weathered and ready for service. Of note, the correct 4 hinge doors not seen on any other RTR models. Its a bit shorter than the Roundhouse cars but variety is good.

Big Four (CCC&StL) boxcar #4058. This car I had sitting unlettered for months and I finally decided to just throw some decals on it.

A couple newly finished and weathered cars, a scratchbuilt MDT reefer and a Big Four boxcar from a Bitter Creek kit.

RPO with finished baggage door windows.

The RPO baggage has gotten grabirons and window panes in the doors.
All thats left now is some steps and finishing.
Unfortunately painting will have to wait for warmer weather.

MDT reefer build from wood.

The MDT reefer got a coat of brown on the roof and black on the ironwork.

A Tichy kit for a steel underframe flatcar. A little out of era but close enough.

Some small shenanigans occurred last night at the model railroad club.

Yet another Roundhouse reefer I weathered.

N-scale color printing is primarily a matter of high dimensional precision. Things have to fit together. Did you guess the prototype? The model is exact, but the paint scheme is not, that is just a test bed to train my color printing skills
