Alberta MLA Angela Pitt accuses school principal of weaponizing position to push recall petition β principal says heβs specifically not been advertising his title, but Pitt has now brought it to the forefront.

If you come across something specific or have something you're curious about, I'm always happy to share what I know and what the research says.

Unless it's YMYl topics. There the requirements for interactions are higher for those who are more risk averse.
Also, we attend to different things when engaging for work vs personal use.
And there's processing factors.
Image colours and main perceived concepts determine whether posts are processed as part of the page (background) or part of the content (foreground).
Trust and reputation on social vs search? Also very different.
We are NOT engaged in goal directed scrolling (ie social media).
There's memory factors, too. Repetition helps. So does novelty.
More novel = seen faster and remembered longer, and in greater detail.
Yes, but no. There are lots of reasons.
That first image? You process the graphic long before the text.
Context matters. We engage differently with ads when we're engaged in goal directed search vs browsing. Research finds we engage more with ads when

You know what the UCP loves? Lying during labour disputes.
No one lies better about unions than them. Sewing derision and spreading lies about unions is their default tactic.
Exactly. Particularly for anyone they don't like, which is pretty much anyone not white, uneducated, and male.
Not to mention getting stuck in areas where they refuse to sell you fuel, food, etc. because you're not American.
I have zero interest in trying it.
It sucks, and I hate it.
I miss spending a few months in Florida with my best friend.
I miss US conferences and road trips.
I don't like having to drive several extra hours when I go back home to Manitoba or Alberta because I can't take the US 2/12.
Sadly, I don't think I'll see the US again in my lifetime.
I assumed it wasn't your FB, but other sites you use FB to log into.
And FB would contain info that could be used to access your email and other things. So, your FB might have your mother (maiden name), etc. to bypass security questions.
They will also replace your posts with scam posts
Yeah that's the idea. They'd be pretty disappointed.
They'd get access to my aging parents, people I went to highschool with, former supervisors, and a lot of pictures of landscapes.
Oh and my cat.
I got an academic version of this the other day. They invite you to speak at a conference held overseas. They then suggest that you can join and speak via FB live or whatever.
Always something ππ

Some of the stray dogs living near Chernobyl have recently turned blue. This confused scientists for weeks, until they realized they had simply been rolling around in chemicals from a nearby set of portable toilets. 14/10 for all

And we've already seen that she can do whatever she wants without repercussions.
They will absolutely remove that legislation.
Looks like there's an effort underway to issue a recall petition for Danielle Smith as well.

TheοΏ½ A large red and white Great Lakes freighter named "Edmund Fitzgerald" sails on calm blue water under an overcast sky. The ship has a white superstructure with multiple windows, a tall mast with flags including a Canadian flag, and black smoke rising from its yellow-and-black smokestack at the stern. Green forested shoreline is visible in the background.
50 years ago today, Nov. 10, 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald sank beneath the waves of Lake Superior during a massive storm.
The sinking took the lives of all 29 men on the ship, and became immortalized in Gordon Lightfoot's song.
This is the story of this terrible tragedy.

The unspoken conversation sits with you for a long time.
Was it a deterrent? Not sure, honestly. I'd have to dig in the research.
Anecdotally? I didn't get shot or stabbed when I was robbed or worked at Walmart, so maybe?
This was standard in Walmart and 7-11 training.
It wasn't just friendliness. It was mostly about loss prevention.
Meeting the eyes of someone who is going to steal/rob you is used as a deterrent and was also meant to reduce the violence of the encounter.
