I did wonder as it appeared on screen, but it didn't bother me. The show simply did not provide any context to quibble with. The comic's story could have been anything. Was it their "Trials and Tribble-ations"? Was it Cosplay/TOS Friday? Was Q having a poke at them? Was it species 1234567890...
