It’s not a good method, and Al’s still a monster of an emotional manipulator, but in his twisted way I think he means to help - even if it’s only so as not to lose a favorite toy. A lot of HH ppl love in fucked up ways though - not just Al.

Weirdly (and really maladjusted) I think that sort of IS Al’s style of comfort? He does it to Charlie too in s1. Arguably, he goaded Vox into (almost!) achieving his goal of taking over Hell - by keeping him angry. Here, it’s harder to be suicidal with hatred of someone else granting purpose.

That afterlife needs so much therapy, so badly. Loss/grief of a traumatic nature might be something the main cast all has in common: loss of self, autonomy, family, friends, etc. Point is, I agree!

Poor Charlie was also hurting badly for grief counseling. So was Lute. So was Pentious. (I have a little theory that Lucifer is too, honestly. He’s known Adam for as long as there have been humans, and Lucifer might not have thought that he could die like a normal person.)

And then tomorrow the traditional Husk Day, in which (to get back at him for laughing) Alastor declares Husk subject to Niffty Day II: Husk Edition. Washing, brushing, preening, clipping (hair and nails), CLOTHES. Angel would have a lot of fun.
