I've been embracing self hosting lately. It's a bit technical to get working but its so nice to have web services you own and manage.

I'll be looking into Fluxer too, but its in the middle of a migration right now so it might be offline for a bit. I've been using TeamSpeak6 lately too. Its not a 1:1 to Discord. Telegram can do screen sharing and voice chat too.

Linux Mint install is super simple and will cover 99 percent of what most people use a computer for, it also gets you into the club of free open source projects for video editing, audio work, digital painting etc.
