Young people in Kosovo¹ are using media literacy to build more inclusive communities. With support from the PBF, a peacebuilding initiative is helping them turn knowledge into action.

At the #PeaceConnect in Nairobi — a gathering of 540 local peacebuilders from 94 countries — UN PBSO was pleased to exchange views with civil society organizations on how to promote social cohesion, rebuild trust in institutions, & center youth and women as we build and sustain peace.

They are consolidation of democratic gains and social cohesion, empowerment of youth and women and human capital development and improving access to basic services, as well as the strengthening of local and trans border governance to promote peaceful coexistence in the context of mixed migration.

Based on multi-stakeholder consultations with the Government, civil society, the donor community, and the wider UN system, four strategic priority areas have been identified for the continued partnership.

The Secretary-General approved Mauritania’s🇲🇷 request to renew eligibility for the Peacebuilding Fund’s Peacebuilding and Recovery Facility for a second five-year period.

The PBF approved a $7M cross-border project to strengthen water management, climate security, and peacebuilding in Mali🇲🇱, Mauritania🇲🇷, and Senegal🇸🇳.
