Schrijven over vernietiging - Verbum Holocaust Bibliotheek Verschijningsdatum: 15 september 2025

In september komt dit boek uit, dat ik met Goran Bouaziz en bram ieven heb samengesteld.

Het gaat over de vraag hoe je kunt schrijven over geweld, de verschrikkingen van concentratiekampen.

Maar ook over wat het betekent om over de Holocaust na te denken ten overstaan van de gruwelen in Gaza.

I really think universities underestimate how true this is for a lot of students and their parents. They don’t want us to try to pretend to be cool. They want us to be a bit dusty, and very serious. Enthusiastic, definitely! But also nerdy. We’re selling them ACADEMIA.

Also a moratorium on teaching Bourdieu for five years please. Just five. It won’t hurt, I promise. It will just give it some space to be (possibly) interesting again?

Honest question: why do academics in literature programs in the Netherlands study anything BUT literature? Like, can you just move into the social sciences then please?
