A Midshipmen who was thrown out of the academy was making anonymous threats via social media using an IP address to make it look like he was at the academy, even though he was at home and not on campus. Students were placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution. During the lockdown, a midshipmen who was sheltering in place mistook a member of law enforcement for a threat and hit him with a training weapon. That student was then shot by law enforcement and is hospitalized and expected to be ok. The campus is still being swept at this time.
