A public institution needs to be balanced and objective on its news (and anger isn’t very objective). There is plenty of space for diverse media whose bias we all know and can absorb or ignore as we wish.
And as for Ed Davy, since when did the Lib Dems jump on World War Two pseudo patriotic bandwagons about £5 notes?
Reaction in this household: “oh do shut up stupid boy”. #newsnight
It’s ridiculous for the media to go “ooh is this the hospitality industry’s me too moment?” when the same channels have been pushing and celebrating aggressive chef shows for decades 🙄 #c4news

We’re talking about the Beeb here, not some obviously biased community media…
Anger doesn’t work and it’s part of any journalist’s basic training to avoid it.
It’s a shifting situation - and we can’t rely on US court decisions for our trade policy…
It is not for journalists to get angry on air - no matter how much we might sympathise. #r4today
I think we might be in an even worse position without that early diplomacy. Trade matters.
Can we please go back to calling “fit notes” what they are, “sick notes”? And when will we address the underlying problem that we have an economy with way too many bad companies, managers and employers - a primary cause of our underlying productivity crisis? #r4today
Ah but working with Trump?
It might sound like nit-picking but the report referred to a “general reputational risk” *not* a “direct reputational risk” - a big difference. Accuracy is important and gets lost if the journalist gets angry. #r4today
What on earth was that so called American expert talking about? There are absolutely no parallels between Venezuela and Iran and it’s ignorant to suggest there are. #newsnight
The representative from the US is talking total drivel. “The US is a strong country”? Desperate stuff. 🙄 #newsnight

“Will continue to take action”? “Threatened with fines”? When are we going to get real and ban X? They could prevent this stuff easily but they refuse to on some sick principle.

I’ve rarely heard such unanimity on Any Answers. Politicians unquestioningly backing Trump and opposing Starmer’s cautious approach should take note. #bbcaq
Our political debate in this country is so short term - that is why our growth is historically so poor. Growth comes from long term investment - both public and private - and there are signs that government finally gets that. #bbcaq
To listen to people like this you would be forgiven for thinking Iraq and Afghanistan were fiction. The Tory is talking as though it’s all over in a positive way. It’s hardly started and we have no idea what the plan is or the outcomes will be. #bbcaq
Reverend Jesse Jackson called on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope; to step forward and say “Send me” wherever we have a chance to make an impact.
How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.
Mel Stride: “we should get public spending under control”. What his party actually did just before awkward elections: 4% cut in employee NI payments adding billions to overspending. The government should be congratulated for doing nothing in this Spring Forecast. #bbcpm
Well it certainly needs to be explained to Webb who clearly doesn’t get it… #r4today
Arguably. But of course they shouldn’t be opponents…
Well we all live in different realities it seems… 😀
