A public institution needs to be balanced and objective on its news (and anger isn’t very objective). There is plenty of space for diverse media whose bias we all know and can absorb or ignore as we wish.

Why Does ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ Still Celebrate Toxic Chef Culture? After 22 seasons, Gordon Ramsay’s show remains a safe space for unhinged workplace aggression

It’s ridiculous for the media to go “ooh is this the hospitality industry’s me too moment?” when the same channels have been pushing and celebrating aggressive chef shows for decades 🙄 #c4news

Anger doesn’t work and it’s part of any journalist’s basic training to avoid it.

It is not for journalists to get angry on air - no matter how much we might sympathise. #r4today

I think we might be in an even worse position without that early diplomacy. Trade matters.

Can we please go back to calling “fit notes” what they are, “sick notes”? And when will we address the underlying problem that we have an economy with way too many bad companies, managers and employers - a primary cause of our underlying productivity crisis? #r4today

Ah but working with Trump?

It might sound like nit-picking but the report referred to a “general reputational risk” *not* a “direct reputational risk” - a big difference. Accuracy is important and gets lost if the journalist gets angry. #r4today

I’ve rarely heard such unanimity on Any Answers. Politicians unquestioningly backing Trump and opposing Starmer’s cautious approach should take note. #bbcaq

Our political debate in this country is so short term - that is why our growth is historically so poor. Growth comes from long term investment - both public and private - and there are signs that government finally gets that. #bbcaq

To listen to people like this you would be forgiven for thinking Iraq and Afghanistan were fiction. The Tory is talking as though it’s all over in a positive way. It’s hardly started and we have no idea what the plan is or the outcomes will be. #bbcaq

Reverend Jesse Jackson called on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope; to step forward and say “Send me” wherever we have a chance to make an impact.

How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.
