Well if anyone asks tell them you're here as Arthur Dent, and your discerning colleagues will all just agree that you are doing the right thing

Raya completed more passes to Havertz (7) than to any other player last night.

In the Premier League Arsenal are:

πŸ” Joint top for avg goals scored: 2 per game
πŸ” Top for touches in the opposition box: 999
πŸ”΄ 2nd for possession won in final 3rd: 4.9pg
πŸ”΄ 3rd for shots on target: 4.9pg
🧀 Top for goals conceded: 0.7pg

How much better can they play?

Haaland is obviously still elite and terrifying and everything, and I'm sure he'll score 8 goals in the two games against us in the next 6 weeks but...

If Gyokeres had not reached the ball across the box that Haaland didn't get to yesterday, I'd have been LIVID. Tap in for a striker, 2-0, game over

The hill on which I will die this morning: while both were great, Gibbs-White's goal was miles better than Anderson's.

I hope you're right. I fear it clicks for them - not sure why, but I have a feeling about him

They're 13th, 3 points off 9th. Surely if they finish top half he'll be there at the start of next season?

Fabian Hurzeler is the manager the press pretend is arteta. He's spent the entire build up whining, the entire match whining, and the entire post match whining. I feel bad for Brighton fans that they have to put up with his mediocre bullshit.

I *think* the meat wall grows from the idea that first everyone put a man on the keeper, then every defence realised you need a man to move that guy off your keeper (forcefully) and it escalated.

Could this be the de-escalation?

Leaving aside your fame (which is so great!) I think last night we saw a key shift in the meat walk. Brighton had two men on Raya, and arsenal just left them. He gets free(er) movement, and if he goes down there’s no question of it being a defender.

I assume so. I’d be over the moon if we could go into the city away game with a lead of 6+ (assuming they win their game in hand). Because that would mean a win makes it almost unassailable, and a defeat still keeps it in our hands. But that feels like a slightly unlikely scenario

04.03.2026 22:26 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I didn’t list forest in my β€˜teams city might drop points against’ but it almost makes my point more. This is a mad competitive league. Not many teams are winning 7,8,9 in a row. Dropped points are normal

04.03.2026 22:24 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I thought city would drop points in unexpected places. And I still do.

But from an Arsenal point of view, framing it as 7 isn’t helpful. It’s likely to be 4, because city win most of their games. And when that happens, we need to not feel like it’s a setback. Four is still great!

Massive appreciation for Havertz today.

His sub made a massive difference towards Arsenal's ability to grab a foothold in this match.

I think they’ll drop points between now and the end. Which means we probably only need to win 6 of 8, maybe 5 if we beat them.

It’s a lovely place to be, but 6 more wins is going to be extremely hard!

04.03.2026 22:05 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yup. If we had four more points (Brentford and wolves) then I might be feeling a bit better - because I think city would start resting players for CL.

But 4 points is nothing, given how nervy we are!

04.03.2026 22:01 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

One of the journalists in the room should ask Fabian Hurzeler about his team being near the bottom of the league in terms of ball-in-play time per match, more than ten places behind Arsenal.

04.03.2026 21:59 β€” πŸ‘ 27    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I’m not here to piss on anyone’s parade, or tell anyone not to be full of joy tonight.

But the lead isn’t really 7 points with the game in hand. It’s 4, with 8 to go. And that’s great, it’s a huge lead at this stage. But it’s not over, not even close

Football is mad. You spend most of ninety minutes feeling miserable and when the final whistle blows you experience pure unadulterated joy which lasts the rest of the day. Love it.

Maybe. But we’ve looked very capable of losing it. And until we win one, none of us will quite believe it

Give everyone a rest on Saturday. That’s not to disrespect Mansfield - it’ll be a tough game - but to point out that losing in the FA Cup would not be season shattering. Losing players might

As for city, obviously I didn’t watch them. But I’ve been saying for weeks, they don’t look like a team that will win every game until the end of the season. Two points gained tonight, absolutely massive
