A proper, thought-out change would absolutely do this.
Far more likely is just βfree kick to the defending teamβ at every attacking set piece

There was a huge deal of it made a few years ago, including this iconic picture (where his hands may be big, but all you can see from the image is that they're close to camera!)

All fanbases have nutters, and Spurs' relationship with Judaism is weird but...
Being a part of a self-proclaimed 'yid army' while also doing Nazi salutes is wild mental gymnastics!
Bangladesh are currently 2-0 down to China in their Women's Asian Cup opener. Their head coach is former West Ham player Peter Butler. His career journey sounds amazing:

Me too! Completely get the need to monetise, but post-Chelsea I also need my fix of Clive!

02.03.2026 19:24 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0These are the overall stats from the final quarter of the match. Iβd expect more and better but itβs not like Chelsea created tons of chances (that werenβt well offside) late even with more of the ball.
02.03.2026 15:54 β π 26 π 2 π¬ 9 π 0Luckily it's just not going to happen
02.03.2026 15:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I would tend to agree. I'm not sure it fixes *everything* but it would be a significant, positive change
02.03.2026 15:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, this feels like (field) hockey corners, which are both extremely time consuming and a predominant source of goals. So, the opposite of what people want...
02.03.2026 14:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Like, FIFA/Ifab trialling some things in the Canadian league is cool. But it doesn't really tell you how Pep/Arteta/Slot or even Moyes/Silva/Nuno are going to adapt to a Law change. So you're risking making fundamental changes to the whole sport without any effective checks
02.03.2026 14:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm not against trying stuff, but... it's really, really hard to trial these sorts of things without having massive impact on the sport. So I can see the temptation to say 'shall we see if the game can work it out first'.
02.03.2026 14:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I *think* it's down to how many teams showed interest in them, rather than an opinion of their ability?

02.03.2026 14:15 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I felt like he got the ball in space a lot. And did almost nothing with it!
02.03.2026 11:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thought he was so meh (again) yesterday. I'm sure there's a good player there, but I can't think of a more overhyped one. Take out his penalties and his stats look dreadful!

Funny how when a narrative really takes off there's no stopping it no matter how far from the truth it is.
Arsenal are excellent at corners and relied on them a lot at the start of the season, no doubt, but that hasn't really been the case for months now.
Imagine posting that though!

The real answer is of course that neither is VAR-worthy and the ref had different angles
But 100% there are (plenty of) spurs fans thinking both were wrong!
Fair play to Juve - after the crazy, sapping, game against Gala in midweek, they were 3-1 down to Roma and have just come back with a 93rd-minute equaliser! Crazy football
01.03.2026 21:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You really aren't meant to play advantage for a red. Like, what if the move comes to nothing, Chelsea counter and Neto scores? You give the goal, then send off the scorer for something that happened before it? In general, he got that one right for me, red over counter, adn you can't give both
01.03.2026 21:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's MAD. I found out when I was honked in a rental car for being stopped at a red light. Couldn't work out what was happening!
01.03.2026 21:32 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0They saw what happened last year with Rice and Trossard, and realised making games 10v11 is worse than stopping a bit of timewasting. So they've gone massively the other way and pretended that their 'crackdown' worked.

The funny thing is that, if you were that way inclined (I'm not) you could feel for Spurs for getting the same decision go against them, in opposite directions, two weeks in a row.
Except they seem to think BOTH should have gone in their favour. Which is clearly dumb.
Yup. It should be advantage (if possible) AND a yellow card. Every single time. Make it so the player can't slow the game down without severe punishment.

There was a little period, when Fabregas was at his peak, when he kept scoring passed finishes into the corner from about 20 yards. And it always made me think 'why don't more players who are good at passing just do that?'.
This was like that - just a hard pass with insane accuracy.
I've just watched the BBC highlights, and clearly I missed the game. Because they make it look like Chelsea were all over us. And yet we had more shots, more xG, and almost total control!
01.03.2026 21:13 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Gah, this is still annoying me! Twice in 10 minutes Chelsea did this, and BOTH times they got the outcome they wanted. Even with the yellow card. So frustrating, and not the ref's fault at all.
