Alright, the good news (and bad news) is after the initial hit adding additional items to the same shipment isn’t as steep. So you can amortize the cost out by… buying more books all at once 🙈

And, to be clear, I still have some of those $20 import CDs I bought back in 1987 😆 how many 39 year old things do you have lying around still (children don’t count!)

I checked how much it would be to ship to Canada (“maybe this is import taxes?”) and it was even worse 🙈

I have no problem spending $20 on an import CD (that was $57 in 1987 dollars, and I bought import CDs back then as well) but I’m having trouble paying $25 shipping for a $21 book. It just seems… wrong. A paperback book doesn’t weigh a whole lot!

I’d once gotten a promo CD from a label that ended up being better than the album I’d bought from them 🥳

A $7 CD that cost like $11 to ship to California from the Nederlands. I guess they felt bad so they padded it out with another album, nice!

I’d ordered a CD off Bandcamp and the label threw in a bonus CD along with some stickers. Free music!

Moonwake Coffee Roasters in San Jose, California is considered one of the best in the Bay Area by people with better taste than me. Here we see a cup of coffee on a granite kitchen counter. There’s a Fellow Ode coffee grinder and Technivorm Moccamaster. You can spend a lot more money making a cup of joe, but this suits me fine.
