I'd agree, the Great Recession, along with some regulations and tech all sort of combined to make it harder to make good cars. Along with cars have peaked so what else do we do, and how do we drive down manufacturing costs. Also most people just don't want a car, they want to drive a space phone.

Working in automotive...me, mechanic shops, body shops, we'll all tell you, buy the cleanest 'older' car you can. Parts availability issues, over complexity, insurance are such a mess on brand new cars. A clean 25 year old Acura will give you less problems in five years then a brand new one.

Trans people are a threat to society. We can't allow them to continue killing people. They need to be socially ostracized and the President should make medical transitioning ILLEGAL in our country." On September 14th, 2025 Elon Musk, who has 220 million followers on X, shared a post from Matt Walsh that reads "Transgenderism is a death cult. The largest, most well funded, and deranged death cult that this country has ever seen." That same day, sitting U.S. representative Nancy Mace posted to her X account, "Transgenderism is terrorism" On September 15th, 2025 Alex Jones posted to his X account, where he has 4.4 million followers, that a "tranny death cult" was responsible for Charlie Kirk's death.

I really don't know what to say anymore. What is happening here is plain as day, these powerful and influential people are demonizing the trans community in order to manufacture consent for state sanctioned violence against us. People who have never knowingly interacted with a trans person are reading the violent and hateful propaganda and they are metabolizing it, believing it, spreading it. I have been transitioning for over 15 years and I have never seen such rampant and terrifying transphobia. And I know that trans people are hardly the first vulnerable group to be misrepresented this way- anti-Black racism and islamophobia have been used to characterize innocent people as dangerous, as terrorists, for decade upon decade, often with fatal consequences. It is important to remember that trans people make up roughly 1% of the population, which make us an ideal target for erasure. Because we are so few, and because so many of you view us as expendable, these evil people have been shown that they can remove us from public life with little resistance. I do not know how I am expected to believe that there is any sort of future for me in a world like this, full of people like this. I don't know how I am expected to want to live in a world like this. The end goal here is to remove trans people from public life by any means necessary, and from where I am sitting it does not seem like there is any real effort to prevent them from succeeding in this. I am done begging for your sympathy. Step up, or don't. Whatever.

The lack of mainstream coverage of regular huge protests reminds me of a talk from a Twitter employees who explained that they had to drop BLM off the Trending Tags section because otherwise it would have been there permanently. The modern media environment has no appetite for sustained movements.
