Looking up at treetops, with mostly green leaves with a patch of orange and yellow Fall foliage. Whitish bark of a standing dead tree is visible in the center of the photo. Blue sky is visible beyond the leaves in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

I have been working diligently this past year on my physical strength and endurance. A year ago I was doing aqua therapy with a physical therapist. Last week, I walked over a mile in a local park. I'm beyond happy to be able to hike again!

Today is the first day of astronomical autumn, and where I live in Ohio we are definitely in ecological autumn as well. The sweetgum trees are dropping their leaves, and maples, like this sugar maple, are getting ready to. And birds are at peak migration.

Yesterday I did the final hem stitch on this #handwoven cloth and took it off the rigid heddle loom. The fancy row of Spanish lace doesn't look like the photo in the book, but I still like it. The cloth looks lovely, and I think it will make a nice purse.

What a beautiful place you live in! I suspect that your climate is wetter overall than ours in the Midwest USA. Though some Septembers in Ohio are very wet indeed.

An asphalt covered walking path runs bisects a deciduous forest. The leaves on the trees are fully green, while a few red and yellow dry leaves are scattered over the pavement.

September 1st has never felt like fall to me. Turns out, according to the ecological calendar, the sarotinal season is roughly mid-August to mid-September. The weather tends to be dryer, leaves start turning colors, and birds prepare for migration.
