Outside of Minnesota, it might feel like everything has changed since Alex Pretti’s murder. But ICE hasn’t actually lost any power and they’re continuing to terrorize our communities.

STATEMENT REGARDING DETENTION OF STANDING ROCK SIOUX TRIBE MEMBER IN MINNESOTA JANUARY 24, 2026 I was notified today, January 24, 2026, that a Standing Rock Sioux Tribe member has been detained by the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the state of Minnesota. Tribal leadership is actively working to locate the individual, gather accurate information, and coordinate with the appropriate authorities to secure their release. At this time, details surrounding the detention remain limited. I urge the public to refrain from spreading unverified information while this matter is being reviewed. Standing Rock Sioux Tribe will continue to advocate for the protection of our citizen's rights and will provide updates as appropriate.

ICE has kidnapped another Indigenous person in Minneapolis. This is the fifth member of the Očhéthi Šakówinnto be taken this month.

The only consistent underlying ideology of the right is the violent and material oppression of marginalized people. Period.

People are nervous about watching video, but this one is not of the murder, it's of the lead up, and people need to see it before the spin takes over.

State troopers in riot gear are protecting ICE agents who have long guns. People yelling at the state troopers, “turn around and arrest them! They just killed a Minnesotan!”

People police terms like concentration camp to protect status quo, to say "that would never happen here". But of course it does. A personal example: all of my grandparents were put in US concentration camps. If you find the accurate use of a word uncomfortable then fight for justice, not euphemism.

I just watched the shooting video. It's a horrific beating and execution in the middle of the street.

If local and state officials don't move to arrest everyone involved for murder, they need to resign. Making arrests will de-escalate the situation. Do nothing and this is going to explode.
