PANEL 1: James steps aside for Astra. "Go ahead," he says. "Hmph," she huffs in response.

PANEL 2: Astra begins picking the stall lock with paper clips. James looks away, sad, while Rex stands beside him.

PANEL 3: "You okay?" Rex tries to comfort him, hand on his shoulder. "I just wanted to help all of you," James answers.

PANEL 4: "Oh, don't beat yourself up," Astra chimes in, catching James' attention.

PANEL 5: "This magazine's still relevant and whatever you do helps," Astra explains. "Especially when you have to do things yourself since your team got gutted."

PANEL 6: Astra glances at him with a warmer attitude. "Hell, I saw one of our posts got shared by an alderman," she continues. "An 'easy' job doesn't mean it's unnecessary."

PANEL 7: Rex approaches her and asks, "Didn't that guy used it to condemn the pride parade, though?" Astra continues her lockpicking and reasons, "It's not gonna be good every time."

PANEL 1: Astra stares James down, who's getting more nervous. At their side, Rex still watches in amusement.

PANEL 2: She gets angrier, squinting her eyes a bit.

PANEL 3: James tries to calm her down. "Please," he says.

PANEL 4: "You can't make both me and Lynx happy," she tells him.

PANEL 5: He lowers his stance a little. "I'm trying," he excuses.

PANEL 6: Rex becomes a bit more sympathetic to James, his amusement dims.

PANEL 7: Things are getting more tense between Astra and James, and James just wants to get out.

PANEL 8: Eventually, he gives up and slumps. "I'm not doing a good job, though," he admits.

PANEL 1: Astra barges in the editors' office, startling Rex. "Gimme some paperclips!!" she shouts.

PANEL 2: James barges in the bathroom. "Lynx, you're good there?!" he asks. Lynx, still in the toilet stall, replies, "Hey, J! Tell Rex thanks for the charge."

PANEL 3: Astra marches to the bathroom, box of paperclips in tow. Rex follows her.

PANEL 4: Back in the bathroom, James continues asking Lynx, "How far along are you?" Lynx goes, "It's getting there, why?"

PANEL 5: Astra finally busts into the bathroom and yells, "Time for you to get out!" James looks terrified.

PANEL 6: "Move aside," she commands. He stands behind the door, trying to reason with her. "Wait, please just let him finish!"

PANEL 7: "It's better if we all can finish today's work in a satisfying way!" he continues, but she's not having it. "MOVE ASIDE!!" she commands louder.

PANEL 8: On the sideline, Rex watches the whole thing in amusement. "'Dying magazine,' my ass," he muttered.

PANEL 1: As James goes back inside, a voice greets him. "Funny situation we're in."

PANEL 2: Turns out, it's Astra. "You heard all of that?" James asks her. "I was wondering where the janitor went," she explains, "Looks like he's no help."

PANEL 3: She pulls out her phone and continues, "Whatever, I just googled how to open a stall from the outside. It's surprisingly easy."

PANEL 4: "That's great, but..." James starts to get nervous. "Maybe he just needed some space to work?" Astra claps back, "He's BARRICADING himself, man!"

PANEL 5: James explains himself, "I mean, Kurt's letting him out nonetheless, so everything's cool, right?" She presses him further, "You're trusting Kurt? That burnout?" "Uh-huh," he confirms.

PANEL 6: She glares him, not believing a word he said.

PANEL 7: James, sweating, nervously smiles.

PANEL 8: Astra dashes out of the conversation, and James follows her in panic.

PANEL 1: "You needed one more, so I'll just get mine," James says as he and Rex go their separate ways. "Hey, thanks," the other responds, "I'll go back to my desk, then."

PANEL 2: James takes out his extension cord. No one else is in his department, only empty desks and a few boxes. A whiteboard has a message wishing him luck from "Lu."

PANEL 3: Back in Rex's office, he plugs in the last cord needed. Rex gives him an approving thumbs up.

PANEL 4: James gets out of the magazine HQ and into the building's corridor.

PANEL 5: He then goes down the staircase, getting out of the building. PANEL 1: Outside, a janitor is vaping. "Kurt?" James calls to him.

PANEL 2: "Whatcha want, I'm on a vape break," he says while a billow of vape smoke goes to James' face, who's unfazed. "I need help with the toilet," James asks, "someone's stuck there."

PANEL 3: "Which bathroom?" The janitor asks back. "The one near the entrance hall?" James replies, "That's the one."

PANEL 4: Kurt shrugs. "Yeah, I 'unno what's going on with him. I noticed the broken lock when I was cleaning it, but the guy asked me to leave him alone."

PANEL 5: "What?" James needs more info. "Yeah, I'm supposed to fix the lock by 5," Kurt continues.

PANEL 6: James is hit with a thought. "...Huh."

PANEL 7: Kurt adds, "Tell him it's extra if I have to clean up his ji--" James cuts him off, disgusted. "No, no, he's not doing that," he assures.

I remain absolutely furious that all this shit in Minneapolis started because a barely-literate homeschooled mormon made a video trying to run up in daycare centers trying to find people of Somalian descent doing fraud despite the ringleader (a white woman) being in jail since March. Demonic.

PANEL 1: "You weren't here yet, but there was the Trump Tower sale cover story from three months ago," James starts explaining.

PANEL 2: The corridor is hectic, with people arguing and running around. "Everyone was hands on deck for that," James continues. "The editors especially were in a frenzy, trying to coordinate it all."

PANEL 3: Lynx huddles alone, trying to work. "Lynx, however, was more stressed out than others since he had to directly report to our EIC."

PANEL 4: More people surround him, including James and Astra, who's mad. "He was glued to his work, fixing every minute detail of the story. Astra was very miffed about it."

PANEL 5: At a rooftop party, Lynx explains what he did. James pays attention while Astra rolls her eyes. "When he finished that month's issue, he said that he was just in a 'sprint'. I don't quite get it, still," James concludes.

PANEL 6: Rex tries to rationalize and offers a reason, "HYPERFOCUS or something, right?" James shrugs and answers, "Yeah, probably."

Phil Hartman eats a cookie and moans, "Ough, these cookies!" Arnold, on the other line, is both shocked and appalled at his blatant attempt to steal his wife.

Merry Christmas! Recently watched Jingle All the Way for the first time and I had so much fun with all its ridiculous dumb stuff. Phil Hartman was a standout

PANEL 1: James asks for an extension cable to another coworker while Rex watches over from the side. "She wants me to get the janitor. He wants me to get some extensions," James thinks.

PANEL 2: "Pretty positive I could do both," he continues. "Kurt could fix this whole kerfuffle while I'm with Rex."

PANEL 3: He looks at his watch. It's 15:39. "Should be done by 5 p.m. if me and Lynx want to beat the traffic."

PANEL 4: His eyes go to Rex, checking his phone. "I don't get why he wants these, though. I should ask Rex."

PANEL 5: "If you don't mind answering," James asks Rex, showing the coworker's extension, "Why is Lynx gathering these?" Rex answers, "Oh, it's for his laptop."

PANEL 6: He continues, "Said he's on a 'sprint' or whatever." James turns sour a bit. "Sprint...? Oh, boy," he replies.

PANEL 7: They get out of the coworker's office. "Yeah, what the hell does that mean?" asks Rex. "If Astra's explaining this, there would be a lot more cursing," James answers.

PANEL 1: "Actually, since you here, can you do me a favor and call the janitor?" Astra asks. "I'm super busy." James shows his phone to her again and asks her back, "Alright, but one quick look at the post, first?"

PANEL 2: She looks at the phone closer. "It's fine," she assesses. "Hey, my job gets scrutinized more, so chill." James takes issue with that, saying "Please don't say that managing social media is easy."

PANEL 3: "Getting paid for scrolling through TikTok? That's the dream," she reasons, walking away from James, who looks disappointed.

PANEL 4: Suddenly, Rex appears and asks, "Yo, Jamsies, you got a sec?" James, taken aback, goes, "What's up?"

PANEL 5: Rex continues, "Help me get some more extension cables? You're chummier than the other folks here."

PANEL 6: "Astra already asked me to take care of Lynx," James tells him. "He said that it's fine, man," Rex assures. "Just come with."

PANEL 7: He puts an arm on James' shoulder. "I don' know..." James feels unsure. "I have to plan for tomorrow's reels." Rex tells him, "C'mon, do you REALLY need to outline all that?"

PANEL 8: "Just point and shoot, bruh!" He says. James goes, "Eeeh..." as they walk through the corridor.

PANEL 1: Astra storms out the bathroom. "This is so stupid," she goes. A bearded cat, James, notices her.

PANEL 2: "Astra, I need your take on this post," he says as he approaches her. "James, thank goodness!" she greets him with a tinge of relief. "Talk sense to your friend!"

PANEL 3: They looked down to the core issue. "Does it have something to do with these extensions?" he asks. "So, TLDR," she starts explaining, "the lock got broken and he decided to keep working instead of getting help."

PANEL 4: Pointing her thumb to the bathroom, she continues, "Dude, our work as editors means that we have to keep each other in check. Since Lynx's not answering the group chat, I got nothing from him."

PANEL 5: James reaches down to grab one of the extensions. "Why not have faith in the guy?" He reasons to her, "he's still here for a reason." Throwing her hands around the hallway, she rebuts, "That's only because this magazine is teetering on a cliff's edge."

PANEL 6: "We can't even afford the crossword guy anymore, remember?" she reminds him. "The subliminal message he put on the last one was mental," he adds.
