If they do well and are strong going into fall I plan to try overwintering them using a technique I’ve seen someone else be successful with up here. It’s different than the advice being given but honestly makes sense to me with our specific little microclimate.

I’m also moving their location from down near the bottom of the property up into the garden space. I think I’m going to put them in the orchard area so they are out of the way where we won’t bother them much.

Got my honeybees ordered last night. I decided to do just one colony this year and I’m moving it into the garden. We may have some big changes this year so between that and trying to cut back on obligations and time commitments I decided just one makes sense.
