Ezra- Your piece on the death of Charlie Kirk was reckless, insulting, condescending, and worst of all, a piece of hagiography. For someone who claims to honor history and context in your work, it reads as if it was written by someone who respects neither of those things.  What does it mean to practice politics in the "right way"? For whom does a "taste for disagreement" benefit? Certainly not the vulnerable populations—trans people, Black women, and more—who Kirk routinely targeted with hate speech and calls for violence.  When I was a college intern at NBC News Washington in 2008, I would watch your MSNBC appearances on the monitor in our office. At that point I could only dream of having a platform like yours, which has grown exponentially since then. Now that I have a platform (albeit it much, much smaller than yours) and I couldn't fathom using it to gaslight the country into believing a hateful man stood for a public good. The biggest barrier to access here is that due to lack of state funding, we have top 10 highest tuition per capita of public unis in the country.

I just voted against the rule to bring President Trump’s Large Lousy Law to the floor. In a few hours, I’ll vote against the bill itself—and its cruel cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and the programs millions of Americans rely on.

Any House Republicans looking for cover to vote against the bullshit bill were given a gift in the terrible jobs numbers. Less than six months in, the Trump economy is failing. Are you gonna cause it to sink even more just to appease a deranged lump of moldy cheddar?
