I have actually read a couple of second person books that worked really well. One example was A Dowry of Blood, which is told kind of like you are reading letters written by the protagonist... it was really nice (especially on audio)

I'm kind of stuck debating if I want to wait for book 4 on audio for consistency or do some mental gymnastics around the paperbacks lol

My understanding is that a bunch of new readers figured out they like reading bc they picked up a 1st pov book that allows them to feel like they are part of the story
I hate self-inserting so it's not my preference, but there's a hearty faction of Romance Readers that want to *be* the protagonist

I don't know what TF we will do if gets the nomination
I just really hope we don't get to that point
I don't want to have to stare down that choice

And that's *also* a lie, based on his track record

Well, I think those people are silly
But then again, I don't really read fanfiction (not that I'm against it, there are just too many books to read, and one must choose how to spend one's limited time)

The crossovers in these books are so good. I love them ❤️

It's not really because of the steamy scenes - that's the hook - but it actually gets less spicy as you go, and the character growth is amazing. Many people start it thinking "okay wow so it's this" but by the end are crying. Of course, not everyone will love it, but don't judge the series on ep 1

I do feel like anything that blows up on this scale is going to attract people from across the internet, and the volume of fans means there will inevitably be toxic weirdos
I generally try to ignore them and not let them affect my own queer joy
I love my block/mute button

The author picked it because it was gross lol
Also, because it fit Shane's diet, and it was simple enough for a hockey player to make during his wife audition
I am a vegetarian, so I find it double gross, but it's a sweet gesture I guess 😅

I felt the same way the first time I read it
I was screaming at him for like half the book or maybe a little more
I'm really looking forward to the new book when it comes out

I think they were just loud, not numerous though.

I don't think it's most readers, but when I was on Facebook for the book groups there were tons of people posting about how disappointed they were when they picked up a book and saw it was 3rd person, then basically yeeted it into the sun. I think it's so incredibly silly.

Audiobooks are amazing and that sounds like a great plan! 🙂
