Trans woman, get it fucking right. Every single time any of these tragedies are focused on a specific marginalized group, such as the trans community, that specific community gets an increased amount of violence committed towards it. The shooter being trans shouldn't fucking matter.

Yesterday afternoon, an active shooter opened fire at Tumbler Ridge Secondary school.

The incident left nine dead, including students as young as 12.

As details emerge, there's still a lot we don't know.

But one thing is certain: we must not allow hate to grow from the roots of tragedy:
