Trump’s Medicaid Cuts Put People with Disabilities at Risk "A nearly $1 trillion cut to Medicaid is not just a budgetary change. It will harm people with disabilities."

Today, as we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the ADA, its promise is in jeopardy following the passage of President Trump’s tax bill, which will cut approximately $1 trillion from Medicaid over the next several years.

We now call on the House now to reject these harmful cuts, and moving forward, we look forward to working with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to ensure everyone in Washington fully understands how cuts to #Medicaid will be devastating, especially for people with #IDD.

We were also grateful for the leadership of Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), who voted against the bill and used his floor time to speak out against the devastating nature of cuts to #Medicaid. Thank you, Senator Tillis, for your advocacy!

Although this was not the outcome we wanted or that people with I/DD deserve, we were grateful for the leadership of Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), who recognized the harm Medicaid cuts would have on #HCBS providers and actively worked to try to mitigate that harm. Thank you, Senator Collins!
