It's the fear you won't wake up next time, it's the medication side effects, it's the isolation, it's the embarrassing symptoms, it's waking up in an ambulance, it's being grateful for waking up at all, it's eating hospital food time and time again, it's the scars of wounds and forgotten memories. Epilepsy is not just a seizure.

And losing your independence.

Surviving events you have to be told about after.

Never fully trusting your own brain again.

It's fighting everyday against something you know you'll never fully recover from.
