The fact that a second strike like that in an armed conflict is definitely a war crime should not completely negate the fact that *there is no war* and ALL the strikes are cold-blooded murder. The whole chain of command are murderers.

Agree with this thread. Worth reading in full.

25 years ago John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, and AC Barrett all worked on GWBush's 2000 Florida recount team. What they're doing now is, if anything, more nakedly partisan.

Fire-breathing dissent by Kagan, with Sotomayor and Jackson.

Hmm..but the person on the track is only in danger if the lever is pulled, as the one pushed is only endangered once acted upon. I prefer the distinction that, in the lever case, the death of the person is a secondary effect whereas the pushed person’s death is required to save the other ppl

More probably than any other member of the administration, Hegseth has done *serious*crimes* (arguably *eighty-three* murders) in the open, admitting his responsibility, without congressional authorization, violating the laws of war on the assumption that Trump will protect him.

It seems worth noting that, given what he's ordered, Hegseth's freedom long-term almost certainly depends on staying in Trump's good graces enough to swing an end-of-administration pardon.

So he is likely to cling *very hard* to the job to avoid being pushed out before the end.

Look around. The case for more, not less, liberal arts education - actual, real education in reading, writing, thinking, arguing, analyzing, & synthesizing by doing the actual hard work for which there is no substitute - is stronger than it’s ever been at any point in human history.

There is no evidence linking COVID-19 vaccines to deaths in children. There is evidence that COVID causes serious harm β€” including long COVID, MIS-C, cardiac complications & diabetes.

This administration’s actions are dangerous, and the damage to the public and children may be irreversible

America stares down erasure of Black history and progress In the last year, federal, state and institutional decisions have gutted pillars of America's civil rights protections.

Under Trump, 591 books by Black authors have been banned from Pentagon-run schools and libraries, according to Onyx Impact.

Tweet from West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey:

It is with great sorrow that we can confirm both members of the West Virginia National Guard who were shot earlier today in Washington, DC have passed away from their injuries. These brave West Virginians lost their lives in the service of their country. We are in ongoing contact with federal officials as the investigation continues.
Our entire state grieves with their families, their loved ones, and the Guard community. West Virginia will never forget their service or their sacrifice, and we will demand full accountability for this horrific act.
