Post on X about Michael’s death by @fabiaschi Wind in the Willows illustration Wind in the Willows illustration Wind in the Willows illustration

Sad to hear Michael Hague has died! 🕯️

His edition of Wind in the Willows was my definitive childhood version, and I pored over his large pictures for hours, especially the trees, Badger’s House and Toad Hall. His Piper at the Gates of Dawn is exquisite 💛

"In your hearts you know he's right!" When Alan Moore took over home-grown superhero CAPTAIN BRITAIN in 1982, he and artist Alan Davis created a darkly comic, weird, and dystopian epic about doomed heroics, right-wing politicians, and unstoppable killing machines. A timeless classic.

From mandatory ID cards to arresting pensioners for holding up cardboard signs to cosy deals with US tech spy firms:

It's good to see lawyers pushing back on their increasingly authoritarian Govenrment.

We must protect jury trials.

Related: the DC animated movies drove me up the wall because they were adapting comics by Mike Mignola, Tim Sale, George Perez, Brian Bolland and suchlike, magnificent stylists, but they all had the same pseudo-anime look. Such a wasted opportunity.

What's funny is I always thought "SMERSH" sounded really goofy and unrealistic. Its like finding out "U.N.C.L.E." was the precursor of the CIA...

Started reading "Death Of The Planet Of The Apes" by Andrew EC Gaska last night, great stuff so far - seems to be on a mission to fill in gaps, connect dots, and iron out continuity.

Really well written story. An important part is that two high ranking politicians, one from each side, together saw inside the crime scene shortly after it happened. Horrible, but it went a long way to ensure cross-party support for the full ban - one of the best things this country's ever done
