Sad to hear Michael Hague has died! 🕯️
His edition of Wind in the Willows was my definitive childhood version, and I pored over his large pictures for hours, especially the trees, Badger’s House and Toad Hall. His Piper at the Gates of Dawn is exquisite 💛
"...I know, what about our wonderful British waterways we're so proud of."
Hellboy vs Grendel, private commission, pencil stage.
"In your hearts you know he's right!" When Alan Moore took over home-grown superhero CAPTAIN BRITAIN in 1982, he and artist Alan Davis created a darkly comic, weird, and dystopian epic about doomed heroics, right-wing politicians, and unstoppable killing machines. A timeless classic.
Today's comics.
BATMAN: THE LAST HALLOWEEN and a couple of the new COMMANDOs
Remembering John M Burns today on what would have been his 88th birthday.
Seconded. This is great stuff.
WHOA.....
Nailed it 👍🏻

From mandatory ID cards to arresting pensioners for holding up cardboard signs to cosy deals with US tech spy firms:
It's good to see lawyers pushing back on their increasingly authoritarian Govenrment.
We must protect jury trials.

Related: the DC animated movies drove me up the wall because they were adapting comics by Mike Mignola, Tim Sale, George Perez, Brian Bolland and suchlike, magnificent stylists, but they all had the same pseudo-anime look. Such a wasted opportunity.
Cloak and Dagger #1-4
Marvel, 1985-1986

Secret Wars II crossover in issue four.
Or Sean Connery saying "Smash"...

What's funny is I always thought "SMERSH" sounded really goofy and unrealistic. Its like finding out "U.N.C.L.E." was the precursor of the CIA...
Oh those are quite cool! I had no idea who any of my house groups were named after until years later
Yeah I had to tap out with those postage costs, unfortunately.
The Kickstarter for @b7comics.bsky.social all-new “Dan Dare” by @alexdecampi.bsky.social de Campi & @marclaming.bsky.social is live www.kickstarter.com/projects/798... - delighted to be part of this project, please check it out
Started reading "Death Of The Planet Of The Apes" by Andrew EC Gaska last night, great stuff so far - seems to be on a mission to fill in gaps, connect dots, and iron out continuity.
Really well written story. An important part is that two high ranking politicians, one from each side, together saw inside the crime scene shortly after it happened. Horrible, but it went a long way to ensure cross-party support for the full ban - one of the best things this country's ever done
My radio play 'Stan' is being repeated on R4Extra on March 22nd. Very nice timing, BBC, thankee!
