I didn't have enough art from last year to do a yearly round up - so I thought, why not do a 6 year roundup instead?

So here are some of my favourite pieces from 202 through to 2025. Was very hard to pick just one per year, but I think these show how much I've grown and how much I've retained!

Improvements:
20-21: rendering in colour rather than colour over greyscale
21-22: more detailed and stylised backgrounds/frames
22-23: the Leyendecker style
23-24: better compositions and detail
24-25: improved rendering

A really good starting point - pick a non furry artist that captures the spirit you'd like to see in your own art, and try doing some furry art in their style

My advice to aspiring furry artists is this:
Please try to absorb all much non-furry art as possible - follow non-furry artists, study their work, practice non-furry subjects.

I can almost guarantee your work will improve and gain depth as a result

I understand furry stuff acts as a bit of a safe space for some people, and if that's your priority fair enough

But if you really want to improve, you need to embrace as much of the spectrum of creative expression as possible, and cutting yourself off from the vast majority of that will atrophy you

Context, my background is in human rights law academia and omg Laicite was such a bane, I agree with the central idea but it's applied in such a way to constantly attack the rights of minority religious groups. You talking about it really took me back to my studies lol
