More paint prep. Put up cabinet doors, similar to how Is' team did before.
But also patching up holes in the paper.
Lots to prep before paint.

(since Is' team got the wrong shade of white that i wanted)

Yes we have been working in the cold for the last 10 weeks here.
Each of us pretty much brought a space heater to help warm us up.

My room got its fan + light.

Buns room got painted and light put in.

First bathroom is almost done.

Thats so true!
My girls always check on me for several reasons.
Crying mostly.
But the other ive noticed is when my blood pressure is too high. (Found this out during a workout session. Diamond tried to trip me. 💀)

I feel im already there. 😊🙃

Theres something about a kitty snuggling under the blanket for warmth, or a kitty coming and pestering for affection and having those sweet serene moments.

These are the new front door, and the dual pane sliding glass door after final installation, and before the last posts photo.

She was showing me the cable cover for the future ceiling fan.

Didnt like the direction it was going, thats been fixed now.

This also shows the new dual pane sliding back door in my room. As well as the proper paint for my room.

Heres recent shots of the bathrooms.

New toilets have been put in. New vanity in first bathroom. (Same vanity I mentioned that Mother Bean and I got into the house ourselves with no tools or help.)
My bathroom has better shower walls.

Things also have slowly been repainted and fixed.

Then came the plumbing leaks with several meetings with a plumber company.

Everythings fixed now.

At this point, Mother Bean and I feel the house is trusting us enough to go down her list of issues, because it was 'one more thing' after another.

This is the other sides rot of same door in my room.
Its all been replaced and fixed.

We have replaced less than 25 feet worth of rot on that side of the wall outside... Still have more to do. It leads around and found some under first bathroom window.

Outside work is on hold now.

Is and his team knew there was rot.
They covered it with 2 cardboard pieces, 1 chunk of my new flooring, and slapped my floor down like no big deal to hide it. 😡

4th pic is after K fixed and replaced it all with new, sturdy floor. 😢

After rain storm passed, K went and found this.

Rot. Lots of it.

I legit was so stressed seeing this.
Where I put pressure on the floor, it was rotted so much I couldve fell in.

We had another nasty rain storm, and it somehow came in the house in my room.
Learned that the floor there was "squishy" (2nd and 3rd pics are before pressure and after pressure. Lookit where the wall and floor meet)

Bun and I did another famous patch outside just in case.

He made new shelves in the kitchen cuz he saw Is had removed them for some reason...

Heres some more bs that Is and his team did before they were fired.

Hole in ceiling going straight to roof.

Ceiling spine trime just... 🤢

Walls removed so violently... Exposing wires and such...

They didnt care...
We lost a lot of money cuz of them, and cant fight them for it.

This was after we told Is that we didnt want those shower walls, and he was fired.
They had removed them and took them.

The floor also wasnt closed well and we could see the outside. So lots of litthe fk ups they did.
Also water heaters exhaust was messed up bad in 2nd pic.

Initially I thought the blue would look nice, but after seeing this all, I didnt like it.
So that was my fault.
Is had gotten the right blue, but again semigloss and not satin.
Theres a difference.
Semigloss is super shiny reflective, satin isnt that much.

One day the floor was bare, the next day my new flooring (again I didnt choose it) was already put down.
There was a lot that still needed to be done...
Also they didnt let the paint dry long enough, and everything dried shut...

Is kept leaving open exposed areas, like that gap under the new first bathroom window.
We kept having rain storms... And that can damage the wood structure or soak insulation.
Which it did...

Bun and I had to go over multiple times and put up temporary patches, cuz Is kept removing them.

At the beginning i gave Is color swatches of paint I wanted.

He had discarded them, and got the wrong paint.

I wanted "silent white" in satin. He got "ultra white" in semi gloss.

I didnt learn til later that it was wrong.

Front deck had major rot, but Is used regular wood and not pressure treated.

Also they built a hand rail right against the front window. Window screen was inaccessible.

Deck rail has been removed, but entire thing is not up to code. Steps not spaced right.

This is when things started... Not working out with the 2nd contractor. We will call him "Is".
Is was not communicating with me, or asking me what I wanted, and ended up making choices without asking me.

I did not pick these tubs, or shower walls.

August of '25.
Had wall between rooms moved a foot to give Buns room more living space.
The windows were removed and so was carpeting.
First contractor didnt do anything, so this work was the second one.
Dont think they put insulation in that wall, and they used plywood for the wall itself.

First bedroom, second bedroom, and second bathroom.
Buns room is first room, mine will be second with the second bathroom.

We learned that second room was deadbolted shut, to rent out. There was no door handle.

Back door in kitchen was taped shut.
My guess last owner didnt want to lose heat or have moisture inside. Lots of wood rot around windows too. It was pretty bad.
Dishwasher was broken, everything brown or green.
House needed work to make more welcoming imo.

I hated that tub. 🤢
