Thanks for the early warning. I'm on the way to the shelter now.
18.09.2025 18:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Exploitation and burnout are very different things though? I've burned-out from non-work things before. And plenty of people burn out from bad circumstances rather than being exploited.
17.07.2025 00:53 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think a lot of fault here lies with dating apps. Similarly I have never met a girl with any of those requirements, but on dating apps it seems like every other profile mentions one of them.
16.07.2025 11:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You can watch the film (one of the 5 I did with 3Dami) here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KHi...
15.07.2025 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The experience impacted me so much that I kept going back year after year, and then when I was too old to be a student I started to volunteer to bring that amazing experience to younger animators.
15.07.2025 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So we had to pull everything we could together to get it done, and each night I would bring home files to render on my powerful (for the time) graphics card. Even then, we only managed to finish rendering everything just minutes before the premiere!
15.07.2025 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Making that film was incredibly chaotic and stressful, but I learned so much, and more importantly I found my confidence. Towards the end of our two weeks we were finding that we weren't going to be able to render everything on the computers we had in the computer lab.
15.07.2025 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0After what felt like an age of silence something possessed me to do the most out of character thing I had ever done, and I volunteered to be the team's producer. A moment that changed my life forever.
15.07.2025 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0When I first started I was extremely nervous as I had no idea how I would make friends there, but so was everyone else. So when the time came for us to select a producer and director, no one volunteered.
15.07.2025 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The models I created with that PC was able to get me into the 3Dami animation summer school. For context, 3Dami is an amazing free summer school that gathers groups of around 10 young animators (13-18) to try and make their own animated short film in just 2 weeks.
15.07.2025 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Within a couple of years it became clear that my 7 year old laptop wasn't going to be able to cope with the stuff I wanted to do, so I decided to build my first desktop PC. I wanted a high powered GPU so my dad bought me the Asus Strix GTX 980. I was immediately able to do so much more in Blender!
15.07.2025 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I always found immense comfort in animated movies, and always dreamt of being an animator. So in 2011, when I was 12, I decided to teach myself Blender. I used an out of date book, but despite the confusion I persevered and started making animations.
15.07.2025 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So Asus is running a giveaway involving telling a story about an experience with one of their graphics cards, so here's mine:
I was a shy kid. While I had a couple of friends, I really struggled with meeting new people and making myself heard.

These kind of map polls make me wonder how valid they actually are, with the sheer number of absurd responses (i.e. in the sea) there always seem to be

This is a horrifying moment in our nationβs history.
Today they have crossed a deep red line.
We, the people, must hold the president and his appointees accountable for this outrageous abuse against American liberty.
Far from being feminist, assuming people are 'male until proven otherwise' is about as patriarchal as you can get.
This Labour government is monstrous. Performative cruelty in a red tie is as bad as performative cruelty in a blue one. Worse, as they led us to expect better. π₯

Congratulations to @gintszilbalodis.bsky.social and the entire Flow film crew for the Academy Award win!
Flow is the manifestation of Blenderβs mission, where a small independent team is able to create a story that moves audiences worldwide.
Thank you for the shout out! 𧑠#b3d
This graph isn't about how much these things matter in general! It's about how much each of these things has affected Trump's popularity!
02.03.2025 13:29 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm pretty sure that that's not what this is saying. It's about how much these things have impacted Trump's popularity. I.e. going after dei has been somewhat popular, but very few people cared, whereas the Ukraine stuff has been very unpopular and a lot of people cared.

I put more thought into this than I perhaps should have.
"We cannot leave it to the Musks and Zuckerbergs of this world to set the bounds of free speech for billions of people around the world.
"We cannot leave it to them to control the flow of information β and misinformation β to so many voters, in so many democracies."
